Hello!
I hope you all had a great January even though the weather has been awful, well, in England anyway..
Today's post i thought i'd come back with a January favourites. I haven't been posting much on here but i defiantly think that my favourite posts to write and read are monthly favourites. SO i thought it would be perfect to do so.
And sorry this is late going up.. better late then never i suppose.
Let's get started....
 |
| Boots- £10 |
1) My first favourite that i'm going to talk about is the Soap & Glory Butter Yourself Moisture Lotion. This stuff is literally amazing. It doesn't only just do it's job by moisturizing your skin but it smells amazing to. Which is an obvious bonus. It's not as thick as the body butter which means it's good to use in the mornings as it takes no time at all sink in. I find that the smell lingers on your skin throughout the whole day which is incredible. When i use this product my skin feels so luxurious and i feel like i've used a very expensive product. The great thing about this is that it's a drugstore product which means it's cheap and easy to find. So, when i run out i WILL be replacing it.

2) The next product is another Soap and Glory product. It's the 'Peaches and Clean 3 in 1 Wash Off deep purifying cleanser' I've used this facial cleanser before and i loved it. I knew i would love this product again, it's just incredible. I could use this cleanser after a makeup wipe to help get rid of any remaining makeup OR i can use this on a full face of makeup. I love it either way. It leaves my face feeling really soft and clean. I have quite sensitive skin so i have to be careful with what products i use, but i have no problems with this. It does it's job and does it amazingly. Also, it smells amazing. Which you probably would of guessed.

3) Next on my list is another facial product. This is the Simple Facial Toner. As i said previously, my skin is sensitive so i have to be careful of what skin products i use. This toner by simple does my skin nicely. After i've cleansed, i use this toner all over my face and it leaves my face feeling even more refreshed. This also picks up any other traces of makeup. I've tried many toners in the past but this is the best toner that i've found and tried. I really like it.
Mine is only a mini but i will repurchase the full 200ml bottle

Stella McCartney Eau de parfum Natural spray 30ml. Boots- £34.50 |
4) Stepping away from skin care, my next favourite is a perfume. This perfume I've had over a year so this isn't anything new. But all of December and January I've found myself reaching towards this perfume more then any other perfume! I can't describe scents so i won't try.. but i do think this defiantly deserves a smell, when ever you're next near a perfume store, go and smell it!
It's a small bottle so it's easy to travel around with you, and i like the design of it which, for me, is important. As i display all my perfume bottles i want them to look nice.
Many people describe this as an 'evening scent'. I guess that is true. But on cold winter mornings i'd wear this. but in Sunny summer mornings, i wouldn't. I'd just describe this as a cold weather perfume.. is that weird labelling perfumes as seasons? ...oh well. haha.
Basically, just give this perfume a good old sniff and see for yourself.

5) Now moving onto makeup. The first makeup item is a primer. This is the Rimmel London Fix & Perfect Pro primer. I'm a huge lover of primers, i have tried my fair few. This primer i have tried before and i completely loved it. I always repurchased it and i couldn't live without it. For some reason, one day, i never repurchased it. I forgot about it. Come January sales, i saw this for £5 in boots and i picked it up. The next morning i tried it and fell instantly back in love. I really don't understand why i stopped buying this primer. It's simply amazing. It makes my foundation go on so smooth and does actually help keep my makeup on for longer. It's really creamy and sinks in lovely. I don't have anything negative about this primer. I just absolutely love it.
I will never have to pay full price for this as it's always on offer in boots.

Debenhams- £20 (varies different places) |
6) Next is the Elizabeth Arden Lip Protectant Stick. I got this in a gift set for Christmas and i've used this every single day since Christmas. It's not like a regular lip balm. It's so much better then Vaseline, carmex, nivea etc. I leaves my lips feeling amazingly soft and smooth. I suffer with dry lips especially in winter and this little lip product really has helped loads to fight my dry lips. It's incredible and i'll honestly be lost without it.

| Boots- £5.49 |
7)Going back to drugstore, My next item is the Wake Me Up Rimmel concealer. I've wanted to try this concealer for the longest time. I finally made a order to boots and ordered this in the beginning of January. This concealer isn't good for covering up spots however it's lovely for covering up redness and darkness under my eyes. The name is correct and it truly does wake up my eyes. I don't suffer with darkness under my eyes but when i use this under my eyes i instantly see the difference. It blends good and lasts a very long time. It doesn't crease nor feel heavy. It's perfect.
Mine is in the shade Ivory.

| Boots- £8 |
8) My next favourite of January is the Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss Stick by Soap & Glory, in the shade 'nudist'
This lip product is so easy to use, and by that i mean, in the mornings i can quickly apply this without having to concentrate to blend it in or neatly put it on the lips. It's not sticky and is a subtle pinky colour which doesn't look too bright or too nude.
Check out my previous post for a swatch. :)

Maybelline The Falsies Volume Express 'Black drama' Boots- £7.99 |
9) I'm not a huge mascara buyer or lover. I never like to spend money on mascara as 8/10 i'm disappointed. This mascara i bought on wim because i had xmas money and i fancied a change. I really wish i tried this sooner! It's the best mascara that i've ever tried! No wonder why so many people rave about it.. It really lengths and adds volume to my lashes. I LOVE it.

L: Boots- £9.99 R: MAC- £21.50 |
10) Next is a combination favourite. I really love these two foundations mixed together. I have the Bourjois healthy mix foundation with the MAC studio fix fluid. The bourjois foundation on it's own doesn't last long at all but when it's mixed it lasts much more longer and when the MAC foundation is on its own i find it a bit drying for my skin but mixed together it becomes more dewy and not at all drying. Both of these blend well together and blend nicely into the skin. The overall coverage of both of them is Medium to high. I just find these foundations were made for each other. I don't particularly love these as individuals but i adore them together.
Bourjois= shade 51. Light vanilla.
MAC= NC15

Ebay- 99p-£5 depending |
11) Lastly is a foundation applicator.
Within the month of January, i have really been enjoying using a beauty blender for my foundation. I find that a beauty blender, blends my foundation into my skins so much nicer then a brush. I have dry skin so i prefer to have dewy looking skin and this beauty blender really helps pull off the dewy look. It's so easy and quick when it comes to applying my foundation, which i like. You don't have to spend ages trying to make sure everything is blended as this amazing little sponge does it so quick. I really don't understand how one sponge can be so amazing. There's so many brands out there of beauty blenders, i've tried the cosmopolitan sponge which is basically the same to this one, but a fraction of the price. (Here's the best part) This sponge only costs £2 from ebay. I've also found a seller that sells them for 99p, which is incredible value. AMAZING. Absolutely in love.
And that's it! I just showed you 11 products that i have been absolutely loving in the month of January. I hope you enjoyed and if you have some of the same favourites then comment it down below, i'd love to know :) I'll make another post shortly. (i won't leave a massive gap this time, i promise!)
Love, Sally
